Job Description Summary

Responsible for performing financial reporting and accounting for derivative activities related to the bank’s Capital Markets and Treasury Department, including the preparation of highly-complex shareholder reports, detailed analysis on models used to measure fair value and the review of financial information from our systems to ensure the accounting entries are appropriate. Responsible also for understanding and preparing related schedules to support the Bank's annual financial statements in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, company policies and procedures, and GAAP.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and maintain robust documentation for all key accounting/reporting processes - automated and manual - associated with the systems used to record Capital Markets and Treasury activity

  • Compile data for and prepare periodic financial reports of a highly complex nature

  • Analyze data from various systems used to account for the bank’s derivative portfolio to ensure the valuation is appropriate

  • Manage day-to-day financial reporting responsibilities including reconciliations to the general ledger

  • Interacts with auditors and control governance teams to provide information and access to accounting records and financial reports

  • Financial reporting responsibilities including developing ways to improve reporting or monitoring templates focusing on efficiency and compliance with U.S. GAAP

Other Job Duties

  • Research technical accounting literature to analyze and critically assess reporting information with a focus on not only compliance, but improvement as well. Present recommendations to Management.

  • Participate in projects as required for new initiatives, process improvements or technology implementation and development.

  • Stays current on new and evolving accounting pronouncements, keeping management informed as to their relevance to the Bank.

  • Frequent interaction with Business Analysts and Technology Resources.

  • Ability to write clear business requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Requires deep knowledge of Treasury and Capital Markets products including interest rate derivatives and hedging activities

  • Requires strong data analysis skills

  • Requires 7 years minimum prior accounting/reporting experience

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting or Finance
