Job Description Summary
Responsible for the timely and accurate reconciliation, remittance, and reporting of investor owned mortgage loans serviced by Bank of the West.
Essential Job Functions
Completes investor reporting functions in accordance with the servicing agreement guidelines to reduce potential for interest overpayment and penalty risk.
Completes reconciliation of investor funds held in custodial checking accounts for various remittance types.
Resolves issues on exception reports provided by mortgage servicing system and external investor to determine accurate remittance amounts. Liaises with other servicing departments to resolve posting, adjustable rate or loan coding issues.
Provides remittance authorization/wire to investor for draft amount and ensures timely funds transfer.
Responds to internal/external audit requests and responsible for development, implementation, and adherence to internal and investor policy and procedure.
Creates new investor parameters in mortgage servicing system. Completes investor transfers to appropriately categorize individual loans.
Participates in the generation of all required IRS reporting on mortgage backed securities.
Handles calls and correspondence from investors with regards to investor reporting and remittances.
Other Job Duties
Participates in the implementation of system enhancements associated with functional areas of responsibility.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requires practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
Requires 3 years minimum prior relevant experience.
Understanding of fiduciary and non-fiduciary compliance requirements
Excellent collaborative relationships skills with internal and external partners
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent works experience
- Good knowledge of mortgage loan servicing, remittance processing and generally accepted accounting principles.
