Job Description Summary

Responsible for working closely with leadership and supporting an array of activities that advance the strategic vision of the line of Business / Group and partners closely work closely with leadership in driving strategic initiatives. Responsible for managing highly complex Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) programs which have significant financial impact and involve significant internal and/or external resources. Primarily responsible for developing segment strategies and programs, leverage data and customer insights along with stakeholder input. Programs include marketing planning and program development and sales strategy, tool and process development. Must be able to work independently, collaborating with partners as needed and exercising sound business judgment, in managing the initiation, development and execution of assigned program Key partners include SME marketing, SME and Branch Sales and Product Managers.

Essential Job Functions

  • Performs strategy formulation, development, implementation, and evaluation to advance the operational success of the Group.

  • Identifies desired results and provides forecasting / development for achievement of those results.

  • Develop strategies and implement programs to meet SME business objectives

  • Know and understand SME’s business objectives, and translate those to partners for planning and measurement

  • Understand SME customer segments and lead segment-focused strategy and sales plan development for assigned segments (Micro, Small, Medium, Pac Rim, Industry Verticals, etc.)

  • Partner within Business Intelligence, Growth and Execution Strategy (BIGES - Strategy Analyst, BI, Program Managers, etc.) and with Sales, Product and Marketing to develop new targeted marketing and sales leads, and consult or drive projects to deliver leads efficiently (MCCRM, Dynamics)

  • Build measurement plans to report on program success and learning

  • Access and analyze data and insights to develop strategies and programs

  • Develops proposals for, or refinements of, and advocates for an integrated strategic planning process; helps implement and further refine the approved process.

  • Analyzes strengths and weaknesses and external opportunities and threats; establishes long-term organizational objectives and strategies to achieve these objectives.

  • Monitors changing regulations, demographics, economics and other key external factors to assess external opportunities and threats in terms of current/future business strategies.

  • Reviews, and recommends improvement of business plans and operations; this includes assessment of organizational readiness for, and exercise of, operational agility and flexibility.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Requires deep knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

  • Typically viewed as a specialist within discipline.

  • May have broad knowledge of project management.

  • Requires 7 years minimum prior relevant experience.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience in data analysis and/or business development

  • Strong willingness and demonstrated ability to work with data, interpret trends, and present findings to project stakeholders

  • Strong ability to balance numerous time-sensitive requests

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, creativity, and initiative

  • Acute attention to detail and ability to produce polished deliverables

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint

  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to access, organize and analyze data and insights (business information); or appetite to develop skills

  • Ability to direct a cross-functional team to develop a cohesive strategy and plan (can speak to and learn from various disciplines)

  • Strong in organizing information and “selling” the story -- excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Strong relationship-building/interpersonal skills, with ability to drive results through a cross-functional team

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Able to ‘see the big picture’ but also operate in the details

  • Background in business, marketing or sales

  • Banking experience is a plus
