Job Description Summary
Assists with assigned duties in the management of Bank's Global Trade Operations (GTO) activities to include (Standby Letter of Credit, Commercial (Import & Export) Letter of Credit, Bankers Acceptances, and Documentary Collections) and ensure all are conducted in compliance with Bank policy, Uniform Customs and Practice and International Standby Practices as well as all State & Federal regulations. The ideal candidate should have experience with all aspects of Trade Finance operations as well as successful engagements in driving process improvements including digitization, reporting metrics and be well versed in six sigma methodologies. This position requires a highly organized individual with strong written and verbal business communication skills and a willingness to learn.
Essential Job Functions
As directed, provides oversight and guidance to meet ongoing service levels in the execution and maintenance of the Trade Finance portfolio
Works closely with the senior manager to review business practices and identify process waste and improvements
Supports the Management of assigned trade transaction functions through direct or indirect subordinates including import, export, and standby letters of credit; in & out documentary collections; and all ancillary products related to both.
Identifies potential servicing gaps and recommends market solutions
Services accounts of major importance; resolves/handles escalated or complex problems.
Interfaces with client, customer, other banks, and beneficiary legal counsels with respect to legal technical issues involved in standby letters of credit trade related issues.
Reviews, develops, and implements policies and procedures to ensure unit efficiency and compliance with Enterprise Policy & Procedures and regulatory requirements.
Ensures consistent product delivery to quantity and quality standards.
Supports periodic tests of business continuity plan for disasters and pandemics
Prepares periodic management/ad hoc reports
Assists Global Trade Marketing & Advisory in direct marketing of trade services

Provides infrastructure support
Supports staff development activities.
Evaluate and re-engineer existing internal processes for operational optimization, and manage Implementation which may include system integration of external platform with our internal operational, KYC and other systems.
Review and revise existing procedures to align with Corporate and BNPP policies & Procedures as needed ensuring that Global Trade Operations (GTO) policies and procedures align with corporate compliance.
Reviews and interprets new and pending laws and regulations, which potentially affects the business practices of GTO. Assists department manager on matters involving litigation, which may affect GTO’s compliance with laws and regulations
Performs duties surrounding major and critical compliance and regulatory risks.
Provide support and oversight for OFAC, BSA/AML, trade/ compliance related regulations, Customer risk assessment and review/ escalation, follow up of all issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits 2007 Rev (UCP ICC nr 600) & International Standard Banking Practice for the Examination of Documents under Documentary Credits 2007 Rev ISP 98
Strong sense of urgency
Knowledge of OFAC, L/C and SBLC anti-boycott check and other KYC checklist required by Compliance
General understanding of credit products
Strong technical skills in desktop and business applications and digitization opportunities

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
5 years of support of Trade Finance products / services.
Understanding and knowledge of all Banking Regulations, including OFAC regulations and BSA/ Anti-Money Laundering and other trade specific regulations.
Ability to make the complex simple
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills
Is self-motivated, pragmatic, having a sense of urgency is a must
