Job Description Summary
Responsible for performing and documenting all applicable monitoring processes related to the assigned business function(s), and the reporting, communication and resolution of findings and other issues. Anticipates and implements changes to the monitoring plans as a result of changes in the Bank's business environment including regulatory and legal changes. Partners with internal and external auditors and regulators as necessary. Analyzes the monitoring methodology and business functions processes to identify patterns and trends, and communicates with management to ensure that risks are adequately identified and addressed, and discusses where processes can be enhanced and streamlined.
Essential Job Functions
Implements, performs and documents assigned control reviews; performs and conducts monitoring based on detailed procedures and processes. Identifies issues, exceptions and patterns, escalates to management, and works with business unit leadership on remediation, and formally documents findings and remediation plans.
Communicates monitoring results to management and business partners. Prepares and presents written monitoring report of testing results and recommendations.
Identifies areas of risk and makes recommendations on operational improvements, processes for compliance, quality assurance, quality controls and any additional training essential to mitigate risk. Seeks ways to assist the Bank in strengthening controls, remain compliant and improve efficiency.
Researches and analyzes monitoring results or issues, training, reads literature in order to become more knowledgeable about current banking, regulatory and audit issues, and performs other tasks as necessary to carry out daily responsibilities; maintains expertise in areas of testing.
Performs research, participates in training, and reads literature in order to become more knowledgeable about current business and issues related to assigned area(s).
Receives and analyzes monitoring results from testing performed on related controls from business unit compliance officers.
Partners with business unit leadership to review monitoring metrics to find enhancements in processes, training, procedures and other areas of opportunity.
Requires broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education.
Requires 1-3 years prior relevant experience.
High School Diploma or GED Required
Thorough knowledge of monitoring principles
Thorough knowledge of quality assurance and/or control processes
Thorough knowledge of BOTW transaction processing services
Thorough knowledge and ability to analyze procedures, processes and metrics
Thorough knowledge of industry relevant software used for analysis
Analytical and research skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to perform independently with a minimum of supervision
Good organizational skills
Good to presentation skills
Excellent PC skills, including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, and related software
