Job Description Summary
Provides mid level creativity and skill in compensation policy, program development and support. Is assigned moderately complex, moderately sized impact projects such as small to mid size organization restructurings, variable pay programs, and corporate mergers & acquisitions. May function as team lead for entry level Compensation Analysts.
Essential Job Functions
Interact with all levels of management to help develop, implement, communicate, and administer base and variable pay programs.
Partner with management of assigned client groups to interpret compensation policies and provide analysis, advice, education, and solutions to compensation issues.
Perform complex cost impact analyses and prepares special analyses, studies, and recommendations on subjects such as pay policies, incentive/sales compensation, bonus plans, and recognition programs.
Lead projects to establish market pricing benchmarks, estimated market values, incumbent analysis, incentive program recommendations, annual merit budget, salary structure review, department re-organization etc.
Participate in compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information to determine the company's competitive position.
Evaluate jobs to determine classification, market value, salary, and FLSA status using a market-based pay philosophy.
Interpret company salary policies and practices and local, state, and federal laws regulating salary practices.
Contribute to database management and ad hoc analyses as requested.

Requires 7 years minimum prior relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree
Thorough knowledge of Compensation practices, experience in project management, and familiarity with PeopleSoft Human Resources system or similar systems.
Familiarity with variable pay plans; experience in the actual design of variable pay plans a strong plus.
Must have experience in participating in established compensation salary surveys.
Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory laws related to compensation.
Strong interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
Strong planning, organizational, project management, analytical, research, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Access and Excel.
