Job Description Summary

Provides construction related services on construction projects on an as-assigned basis. Periodically visits construction projects where the Bank has moderate to significant exposure to construction risks. Reviews incoming Service Requests and construction project documentation. Evaluates documentation and forwards it to outside consultants to provide the required services. Monitors and assists with the evaluation of outside consultant performance.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provides accurate construction related services in a timely manner. These services include, but are not limited to cost analysis studies, construction monitoring, cost-to-complete estimates, pre-construction meetings, inventory verification and documentation.

  • Controls the cost of services to insure normal market rates are not exceeded.

  • Identifies construction risks and recommend methods to mitigate or minimize these risks.

  • Monitors performance and assists with the evaluation of outside construction consultants.

  • Assists with training of Bank of the West in-house assistant construction analysts.

  • Maintains and/or account for all plans and other construction documents provided for services.

  • Travels extensively by automobile and commercial aircraft.

  • Maintains the highest ethical standards and professional practice.

Other Job Duties

  • Represents Bank of the West Loan Administration in an appropriate manner.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Requires deep knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

  • Typically viewed as a specialist within discipline.

  • May have broad knowledge of project management.

  • Requires 7 years minimum prior relevant experience.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in a construction related field

Skills

  • Sound knowledge of the construction industry with a concentration on cost estimating, construction techniques and construction project management.

  • Ability to review drawings and interpret construction documents.

  • Ability to analysis draw requests, loan budgets and disbursements; CLCS training is preferred.

  • Awareness of current construction costs, building codes and standards of the industry.

  • Capable Windows environment computer skills including, but limited to, word processing, spreadsheets and communication applications.

  • Good judgement skills Strong analytical skills Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
