Position Summary

The Executive Recruiter role will guide the implementation of executive talent acquisition strategies within Bank of the West. The Exec Rec conducts searches at the executive level, SVP and above, as well as business critical hard to find positions. This position collaborates directly with our executive leadership in developing innovative candidate sourcing, recruiting and assessment strategies.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as advisor and business partner to executive leadership to determine current and future talent requirements.

  • Advisor to hiring managers, conducting full life cycle executive search including developing search strategy, source candidates (internal & external), screen, evaluate and recommend candidates, advising hiring manager on the interview process, interview guides, feedback, selection, references, offer preparation, offer approval, negotiation and onboarding.

  • Develop targeted sourcing strategies for executive positions; conduct market research, develop search strategies, conduct market outreach to identified prospects. Utilize multiple talent acquisition tools; including diversity resources, LI, CRM, ATS, and pipelines, to identify a diverse slate of qualified, interested candidates.

  • Build a trusted advisor relationship with hiring managers, advising hiring executives on effective search strategies, compensation, interviewing, and new-hire management.

  • Provide clients and stakeholders with weekly updates on search progress and outcomes, managing expectations.

  • Maintain relationships in the market and develop pipelines within the industry

  • Attend conferences and industry events to identify market trends, industry best practices and network.

  • Deliver executive recruitment communication including search presentation materials, job descriptions, candidate profiles, search status presentations, interviewer/stakeholder communication, Interview Guide preparation, and candidate preparation.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Coordinator on the candidate experience – Interview scheduling, travel, on-boarding

  • Participate on process improvement initiatives across Talent Acquisition and HR

Qualifications

Required Education or Equivalent Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience (Required)

  • Master’s/Advanced Degree in Human Resources, Business or related (Preferred)

Required Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in progressively responsible senior recruitment roles

  • Successful experience in executive recruiting, hiring and onboarding executives

  • 3 or more years in corporate executive recruiting strongly preferred

  • 3 or more years of retained search experience highly preferred

  • Ability to partner with stakeholders, including HR Business Partners, Executive Compensation, Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Management, HR Operations, etc

  • Expert at talent acquisition, senior level compensation solutions, and ability to drive projects forward.

  • Excellent relationship building, influencing and communication skills required

  • Ability to effectively interact with senior management

  • Technology savvy – excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and have experience working with an ATS and CRM

  • Strong work ethic

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
