Job Description Summary

Responsible for providing broad-based analysis for the securitization and loan sales platform of the Bank, with particular emphasis on data, credit and fixed income financial analysis. Assists with new issuance securitization activities, ongoing transaction monitoring and reporting, transaction clean-up and termination and adherence to regulatory and legal requirements. For securitization and loan sales activities, performs a variety of complex and diverse analytical duties including the collection, manipulation and analysis of large datasets from various sources in a variety of programs, and performs statistical analyses, cash flow modeling and cost-benefit analyses. Assists with on-going monitoring and reporting of the Bank’s collateral management activities. May perform small, short-term projects and support the lines of businesses of the Bank from time to time.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop data extraction and analytical tools, and provide solutions to support the securitization, loan sales and collateral management platform

  • Generate loan assumptions based on historical performance, develop models and support external rating analysis to meet Bank securitization objectives

  • Perform complex analyses and structuring work for new securitization and loan sales transactions, including but not limited to identifying optimal transaction structure considering profitability, liquidity and capital management objectives, determining the loan pool, preparing and reviewing legal documentation with internal/external counsel, marketing and closing activities

  • Perform ongoing investor and management reporting of executed securitization transactions, including requirements development and troubleshooting investor reporting and accounting systems, as may be necessary

  • Perform monitoring and high-level reporting of the Bank’s collateral management activities, including securitization funding as well as pledged assets with the FHLB and the Fed

  • Execute clean-up call activities, including calculation of repurchase amount and termination of securitization transactions

  • Develop and maintain policies/procedures applicable to Bank’s securitization and related activities

  • Ensure compliance with Bank audit, regulatory, security and risk standards, policies and procedures

  • May assist in researching relevant business and regulatory developments in the securitization and/or banking industries

  • May support other business objectives and projects when not actively working on a securitization transaction

  • Interacts with treasury, risk management, underwriting, operations, servicing, collections, accounting, legal, compliance and other related Bank teams regarding business operations and their relationship with securitization

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Other Job Duties

  • Uses statistical concepts to review large volume of data for anomalies, and recommends remedial actions.

  • Works with LOB partners and modelers on modeling approach, assumption; becomes SME on data and business characteristics for subject portfolios and develops statistical and qualitative predictive models to be used for CCAR Stress Testing.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

  • May have practical knowledge of project management.

  • Requires 5 years minimum prior relevant experience.

  • Five or more years in banking or financial services preferred, securitization experience a plus

  • Four or more years of data and/or financial analysis required

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Finance or Economics required

  • Master's Degree Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to apply quantitative methods and tools supporting credit and/or fixed income analysis, preferably with a focus on securitization

  • Technical skills to manipulate and analyze large datasets in a variety of formats (e.g. SAS, SQL, Access, etc.); demonstrated scripting/programming skills in at least one language is required

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills coupled with thoroughness and attention to detail is required

  • Experience assessing historical data to support assumption generation and model development preferred

  • Experience developing cash flow analyses and cash flow modeling preferred

  • Proficiency in Excel mandatory, programming skills in VBA preferred

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles preferred

  • Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, while capable of working independently with moderate direction
