Position Summary

We are currently seeking qualified, motivated talent to be responsible for developing and managing the enterprise data strategy, including top-down enterprise / CDO-led strategies and bottoms-up / business unit priorities and capabilities, including collaborative routines to prioritize goals and elements of the strategy over time. Responsible for the creation of a target state data architecture (in partnership with IT for related technical architecture) for the Enterprise that supports and enables the data strategy, and ensuring the target architecture, and data investments, maximize the business value of data assets.

This role:

  • Partners with the businesses to define data- and analytics-related business priorities and capabilities across all business functions

  • Works with the CDO and data and analytics teams to establish and communicate KPIs and other performance metrics for data and analytics capabilities

  • Manages the Data & Analytics Leadership Council and Community of Practice, and establish other methods of promoting a data-driven and data democratization culture

  • Helps the business leverage big data, new analytic methods, and other technologies and capabilities that improve operating processes; shorten paths for business users to use data for actionable insights; and advance digitization goals

  • Establishes and manages collaboration routines to ensure that enterprise data architecture (incl. with IHC and BNPP) aligns and evolves with LOB and function-level data and analytic needs

  • Implements control processes to ensure data initiatives and investments align with the enterprise data strategy (e.g., Project Review Board, data design boards, architecture committees, SDLC process, etc.)

  • Establishes and manage processes to ensure value-added metadata, data quality, integrity, and protection are integrated at the design stage of all products, projects and systems and operationalized thereafter

  • Partners with innovation teams to stay abreast of fin tech industry developments, and execute pilots with teams across the enterprise that can add business value / improve BOW data capabilities

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead project teams multiple job areas.

  • Typically has mastery level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with broad understanding of other areas within the job function.

  • Requires 12-15 years minimum prior relevant experience.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Information Systems or related field

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 12 to 15 years of overall banking experience

  • Proven track record of leading and delivering data strategy in a large (financial) institution, including across multiple constituent business groups; and

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior data management role in a major financial institution

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in information architecture and development, including Big Data and new analytic technologies

  • Large consulting firm experience

  • Preferred: familiarity with BCBS 239, experience with Lean/Six Sigma
