Job Description Summary

Responsible for providing strategic leadership to Finance technologies, including research, coordination and management of technology projects for Finance. Scope of projects are transversal in nature, and may include (but is not limited to) simplifying processes, improving efficiencies, and addressing issues arising from changing business needs, compliance issues, installation or coordination of emerging technologies, new systems and applications etc. Acts as primary point of contact, information hub, and escalation point for medium to large projects within Finance for all stakeholders & partners including all functional departments, Clients, and Third Party Suppliers.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide strategic leadership to Finance technologies, including to assess the technological aspect of Finance production process, partner with Key Finance/IT stakeholders and establish a multi-year road map for future development and growth of Finance reporting and analytics capability

  • Balance the strategic vision and approach problems from a data and systems-design perspective

  • Inspire creativity and establish new approaches to improve efficiency of Finance production, to meet group/regulator requirement on financial reporting and to support for the enhancement of Finance analytics

  • Monitor the development and implementation of technological projects for Finance, and alert management of any risks and issues

  • Maintain a consistent distribution of reporting and communication to senior management on project status and issues, the informative value of content provided to executive management to drive critical decision support for Bank of the West and BNPP Intermediate Holding Company (IHC).

  • Collaborate and build positive stakeholder and business partner relationships providing regular updates to resolve high priority issues affecting the projects

  • May be involved in and lead traversal Finance technology projects across US platform for consistency and synergy

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree/University Degree

Work Experience

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience

Skills

  • Experience in Finance/Accounting in a Retail banking organization required

  • Experience managing diverse, global systems functions, spanning from data engineering through application management.

  • Experience optimizing workflows and technology integrations.

  • Experience partnering with IT teams

  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with people across the Enterprise as well as executive management

  • Viewed as the leading expert by peers within and outside of the organization.
