Job Description Summary

The

Senior Reporting Analyst, VP, will be responsible for partnering with their

Compliance Business Partners to develop and delivery clear, concise and

insightful reports/analysis with clear messaging and calls to action for the

Bank’s Senior Leadership, Board of Directors and External Regulators (including

partners at BNPP).

The

Senior Reporting Analyst will leverage their advanced problem solving and

decision making skills to oversee and ensure the successful delivery of large complex

internal initiatives and special projects with limited oversight from their

manager. (i.e., Annual Compliance Plan, Committee Charter Reviews, Priority

Strategic Projects). As part of these

delivery activities, the Senior Reporting Analyst may be asked to lead small

cross-functional resource teams to ensure successful delivery.

The

Senior Reporting Analyst will also be responsible for identifying and

implementing continuous improvement activities to strengthen and streamline the

process to capture, aggregate, analyze and report on both qualitative and

quantitative data from across Compliance Organization and its partners.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead efforts with Compliance Senior Leadership and their teams to develop insightful reports that effectively convey calls to action to senior management and Board Committees.

  • Analyze both qualitative andquantitative data to provide impactful insights to senior management.

  • Build and enhance relationshipswith Compliance and Line of Business Partners and become a trusted advisor.

  • Liaise with the Office of CorporateSecretary to coordinate schedules and materials needed for Senior Leadership, BoardCommittee and Board of Director meetings.

  • Establish, maintain and continuously improveprocesses and procedures governing the creation, distribution and management ofCompliance Reporting provided to Senior Management and Board committees.

  • Develop and enhance systems toefficiently manage workflow for Compliance Reporting activities and specialprojects (including tracking and reporting progress of the Annual CompliancePlan).

  • Maintain and enhance the repository ofdata elements used in reporting to Bank of the West senior management and Boardas well as to the IHC and BNPP.

Qualifications

Required Experience

Minimum Experience:

  • 5-7 years prior relevant experience in the Financial Services, Legal, Compliance/Risk Management and/or Management Strategy Consulting industries

  • 2 years of cross-functional project / team leadership experience

  • Proven track record of delivering large programs and/or initiatives that deliver significant benefits to their employer and/or customers.

Preferred Experience:

  • 8 - 10 years prior relevant experience in the Financial Services, Legal, Compliance/Risk Management industries with at least 3 to 5 years of top tier Management Consulting Experience

  • 3 - 5 years of cross-functional project / team leadership experience delivering large initiatives

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage strong relationships with C-Suite Leaders, Business Partners and External Partners

  • Proven track record of delivering large programs and/or initiatives that deliver significant benefits to their employer and/or customers.

Education

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Commerce, Political Science, Law, Economics and/or Engineering) with advanced Certifications (i.e., ACAMS, CRCM, FINRA Certified Compliance Specialist, GRC Professional, etc.)

Preferred Education:

  • Master’s Degree (Commerce, Political Science, Law, Economics and/or Engineering) and/or MBA with advanced Certifications (e.g., ACAMS, CRCM, FINRA Certified Compliance Specialist, GRC Professional, etc.)

Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including developing executive level presentation materials and regulatory related materials

  • Keen eye for design and understanding of layout flows and infographics to ensure effective distribution of information to broad audiences

  • Ability to aggregate, condense and transform both business and technical data into easily understandable concepts for senior leadership

  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills to rapidly assess complex situations and provide leadership with options on how to address the situation

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power and SharePoint products (advanced SharePoint Site Management experience is a plus)

  • Strong Data Analysis skills leveraging Excel and Visual Analytics Tools (SAS & SQL experience is a plus)

  • Strong problem solving, planning and time management skills with a keen attention for detail; Project Management / PMP Certification is a plus

  • Sound understanding of the financial services industry with strong knowledge of Governance, Compliance and Risk Management Concepts.

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and relationship management skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with business partners and Senior Leaders

  • An ability to adjust to a rapidly changing environment and prioritize deliverables
