Job Description Summary

Responsible for managing crucial strategic offshore (India) vendor relationships to drive a best-in-class vendor management strategy and program for the Bank. Responsible for building and maintaining a strong partnership with key vendor leaders and stakeholders to drive for mutually beneficial results. Responsible for enhancing collaboration between key strategic technology vendors and business partners by understanding the complete breadth of professional services provided by vendors and current support services provided to each relevant business unit. Responsible for projects, project cost, SOW management, SLAs, and executive reporting, and serving as an escalation point for BOW and vendor. Responsible for partnering with key stakeholders across the Bank to ensure that financial, performance, and risk and compliance requirements are being met.

Essential Job Functions

  • Strategically manages complex, key vendor relationships through the lifecycle.

  • Implements an aggressive Vendor Management Program that includes vendor metrics, KPI reporting and analysis, scorecards and formal business reviews.

  • Communicates with all levels of management inside and outside the offshore company.

  • Manages supplier performance to ensure contract requirements compliance.

  • Assists in proactively driving process and operating model improvements for both entities that will result in cost reduction, increased productivity, deeper engagement and service level enhancements.

  • Acts as advocate for vendor within Bank to successfully resolve internal impediments to close collaboration and productivity.

  • Single point of contact for Procurement, Enterprise Information Security, HR, Audit, Risk & Compliance, Legal, and Finance to address liability, financial and operational risk that tie to related issues.

  • Identifies, tracks, manages, and ensures timely resolution of self-identified, or audit and/or regulatory issues related to vendor.

Other Job Duties

  • Conducts regular status meetings with vendor and others.

  • Ensures service levels are maintained, schedules are met, and formal reporting and invoicing are timely and accurate.

  • Maintains relationship with internal stakeholders to support compliance with polies and practices.

  • Oversees resource planning with Bank stakeholders and offshore managers.

  • Builds and supports business case for new services and renewal of existing services with cost-benefit analysis to recommend best value for Bank of the West.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Over 10 years minimum prior relevant experience.

  • MUST have experience with stand up and operational management of offshore development center(s) for national/multi-national vendors, and related vendor management practices.

  • Previous responsibility for managing budget, projections, changes and material financial spend with vendors.

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional projects.

  • Experience working in a financial services company strongly preferred.

  • Experience managing technology contracts, statements of work, and professional services preferred.

  • Familiarity with affiliate transaction analysis, requirements, compliance documentation, and ongoing management would be a bonus.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

Skills

  • Excellent analytical, financial, vendor management and written/verbal communication skills.

  • Deep knowledge of program/project management, Agile/Scrum methodology.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.

  • Proactive attitude and willingness to roll up sleeves to meet the business requirements.

  • Ability to think and appropriately respond in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.

  • Good organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and maintain confidentiality.

  • Works well under pressure and within short time constraints.

  • Proficient in Microsoft products including Office, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
